I feel a loss in my life. Though I can't say I was close to John Paul, I feel as though I've lost a brother and a friend. At least I get to say that I've been fortunate enough in my life to have laid eyes on him and be physically in his presence once.

Whatever your beliefs, whether you're catholic or not, and whether you believe in the man or not, one cannot deny what he has done for our world through his love for God and his actions and mere presence in the world stage.

Rest in peace my brother in Christ. You will be missed. I know you're in a better place now. Thank you for all you've done for us... and for me.
